The National Archive of the Republic of Belarus (NARB)

The National Archive of the Republic of Belarus (Государственное учреждение «Национальный архив Республики Беларусь») is the main republican state archive and a scientific, research, and methodological center for managing documents of the National Archival Fund of Belarus. It was established in 1927 as the Central Archive of the October Revolution of the BSSR and has undergone several reorganizations before becoming the National Archive in 1995.

The archive holds documents from government bodies, organizations active in Belarus and abroad since 1917, republican party, Komsomol, trade union, public, and cooperative organizations, institutions from the Provisional Government (1917), the Belarusian-Lithuanian SSR (1919), the Belarusian People’s Republic (1918–1925), Western Belarusian organizations (1921–1939), as well as from the period of the Civil War, WWII occupations, partisan formations, and underground groups. It also preserves records related to public, political, scientific, and cultural figures.
